VIDEO: Alex Galchenyuk’s Five-Point Game Before World Juniors

Alex Galchenyuk

Alex Galchenyuk is going to be an offensive key for the U.S. National Junior Team at the World Junior Championship. He has elite skills, good size and is in the midst of an other-worldly season in the Ontario Hockey League.

Just before Galchenyuk left for Team USA’s pre-tournament camp, his Sarnia Sting met the Kingston Frontenacs. In what the U.S. will hope to be a sign of things to come over in Ufa next week, Galchenyuk absolutely went off with three goals and two assists (indluding one to probable Team USA teammate Connor Murphy).

Here’s all five points in video form…

The five-point game capped an eight-point weekend for the Montreal Canadiens top pick, who was named both the Ontario Hockey League and Canadian Hockey League Player of the Week.

Galchenyuk is second in OHL scoring with 61 points, trailing Ryan Strome by one, while his 27 goals are tied for the league high.

I have a feeling USA Hockey is pretty glad this guy was born in Milwaukee. The Good Land, indeed.
